-
Description
-
From the exhibition “Shopping for Bargains/My Mother Taught me to Shop” at ArtPace in San Antonio, Texas (2024), this work combines the ideas of beauty and bargains. This photograph was created using a photogram technique. Pricetags and beading were also added. While the larger installation explores the way consumers participate in the exploitation of garment workers when they demand low prices, this piece emphasizes the agency of workers and their collective power.
